GRM International will be hosting a 3 day Monitoring and Evaluation skills development training course from 17-19 June 2015 in Port Moresby which will provide a broad overview of the skills and knowledge of M&E. The course is ideal for those who have had limited or no formal training in M&E but need a good understanding of the subject. Participants will be provided with a complete set of materials that will support future learning after the course. Our M&E trainers are world class M&E specialists who work across all sectors.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify the basic purposes and scope of M&E & differentiate between monitoring functions and evaluation functions;
  • Describe the functions of an M&E plan & build an M&E plan;
  • Construct a logical framework & identify and differentiate between conceptual frameworks, results frameworks, and logic models;
  • Describe how frameworks are used for M&E planning & identify criteria for the selection of indicators;
  • Describe how indicators are linked to frameworks & write an indicator for a range of scenarios;
  • Identify types of data sources, manage data collection, and analyse data;
  • Use a full range of quantitative and qualitative data collection tools;
  • Describe how information can be used for decision-making & communicate results.

Course facilitator

Leonie Barnes has more than 18 years’ experience in the emergency and development aid area; with the United Nations, clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance; managing multi – million dollar programmes; working with Governments as an advisor with the Swiss Government and with local and international NGO in capacity building and proposal writing, monitoring and evaluation and safety and Security in the field. Her in country experience also includes; Sudan, Kosovo, Eritrea and Ethiopia, and in Sri Lanka and various other countries. Leonie is engaging, passionate and committed to sharing her knowledge and expertise in support of fellow development colleagues.
